EPISODE TWO.
(That which you seek, you shall find in abundance)
“What sort of rubbish question is that, you witch?!” Mama thundered.
Winnie just shrugged and muttered, “Your son can explain better.”
“Mama, what did you just say? Whose wife? Did I ever tell you I needed a second wife?” Solomon flared up in anger. But before he could say more, his mother silenced him with a sharp look, and he immediately kept quiet. Winnie wasn’t surprised—after all, her husband had been a mama’s boy from the very start.
“Shut up! Shut your mouth this instant!” Mama snapped. “Do you think I’ll let you be influenced by this witch who knows nothing about childbearing? All she does is eat and eat and eat!”
“Mama, let’s not do this here. My wife just lost a baby—don’t anger her, please,” Solomon pleaded, his voice laced with frustration. “And take this *thing* back home with you. I don’t want to see her anywhere near my house.”
“You lie, Solomon!” Mama fired back. “Anita is coming home with me, and she is your wife. That’s final!”
Winnie simply chuckled, eating her food and watching the drama unfold like she was enjoying a live movie.
None of their words or actions hurt her. If this had been her old self, she would have been deeply pained, but now, the only thing on her mind was revenge for her dead children. She completely ignored the mother and son’s ranting.
Anita, the so-called second wife, sat quietly, her gaze fixed on Winnie. Something about this woman felt off. From what she had gathered, Winnie had just lost her baby—yet here she was, calmly eating and even smiling.
*Maybe she really is a witch, just like Mama said.*
But that wasn’t Anita’s concern. What mattered to her was what she had just heard—her new husband was a very wealthy man. That meant she was stepping into a life of luxury. Who knew? If her first child was a boy, Solomon might buy her a new car… or even a house in Lekki! A man with so much money wouldn’t find that difficult, right?
She blushed deeply, lost in her own fantasies and delusions.
Solomon exhaled sharply, closing his eyes for a moment before speaking.

“Mama, let’s not do this here, okay? Just go home,” Solomon said tiredly.
Winnie stretched and let out a weak sigh. “Babe, I’m done eating, and I’d like to rest. Please take Mama and your second wife home—they’re disturbing my peace,” she said casually, lying down without a care for the shock her words caused.
Mama: “…”
Her husband: “…”
Anita: “…”
The three of them stared at her, stunned. *Did the miscarriage affect her brain?* This was definitely not the Angela they knew.
Solomon was speechless. Did he really just hear his wife call this strange woman his *second wife*? His gaze instinctively shifted to Anita, taking in her curvy figure and beautiful face.

His mother truly had an eye for beautiful women. Anita’s waist was so massive that he almost found himself wondering what lay beneath those tight jeans she was wearing.
Winnie, his wife, was once just as attractive, but now, she looked worn out, drained of her former beauty. Maybe… just maybe, he should *taste* this new wife and see how good she was.
Solomon snapped out of his thoughts, realizing where his mind was going. He almost knocked himself on the head to bring back his senses—he had just lost a baby, for goodness’ sake!
But then again, was it really his fault that Anita had such a tempting figure?
Anita, on the other hand, had already noticed Solomon’s lingering gaze. She blushed slightly, feeling triumphant. *Men will always be men,* she thought. They could never resist a woman with a massive waist—and she was blessed with one.

Winnie glanced from her husband to his new wife and then to Mama. Seeing the way Solomon kept checking the woman out, she smiled. *He just rejected her, yet his eyes are all over her?*
Solomon never failed to amaze her. But strangely, she didn’t feel hurt—not even a little. In fact, she felt *nothing.*
Her emotions were numb now. All that mattered was keeping herself in check, healing, and planning her next move. Because as far as she was concerned, neither the new wife nor Mama had anything to do with her. Her focus was on one thing—empowering herself with her husband’s money, becoming a better version of herself, and most importantly, building her strength.
She let out a small, almost indifferent laugh.
“Baby, you don’t have to just feast your eyes on her body,” she said, her tone light but laced with meaning. “Take her home and do whatever you want. After all, she’s your second wife.”

“Come, this woman, are you a witch? How come you’re not reacting to the fact that your husband is taking a second wife?” Mama asked in confusion. She had expected Winnie to fight back, to protest—but instead, she did the complete opposite.
Winnie let out a quiet sigh and simply replied, “I only fight for what has value.” With that, she closed her eyes to rest.
Mama frowned deeply, while Solomon felt a strange pang in his chest at his wife’s words. He wanted to react, but he held back—after all, she had just lost a child.
“Are you trying to say my son has no value?” Mama demanded.
Silence.
Winnie didn’t bother answering. There was no need—after all, the truth was staring them right in the face.
A moment later, she finally opened her eyes and spoke. “Solomon, take your wife and mother home. I’m giving you and your new wife two weeks to enjoy your honeymoon before I return.”
Solomon opened his mouth to protest, but one sharp glare from Winnie’s cold, piercing eyes made him swallow his words. Instead, he simply nodded, bobbing his head like an agama lizard.
“Mama, let’s go,” he muttered, turning to leave.

“Just like that? Don’t tell me you’re going to obey your old wife just because of a few words,” Anita scoffed as she followed Solomon from behind.
Hearing her words, Solomon abruptly stopped and turned to face her. His eyes darkened. “Who do you think you are?”
Anita rolled her eyes slightly. “I’m your new wife, and I have just as much right to speak as I want. You don’t have to obey that old woman like a lapdog.”
Her words ignited Solomon’s fury. Without hesitation, he landed a hot slap across her face, not caring that they were in a hospital filled with people.
Anita, completely caught off guard, widened her eyes in shock. She clutched her burning cheek, struggling to process what had just happened.
Slowly, she turned to Mama, expecting some sort of defense. But Mama said nothing. In fact, she acted as if she hadn’t seen anything at all.

“You slapped me?!” Anita gasped in disbelief.
Solomon shot her a cold look. “If you won’t keep your mouth shut and follow me to the car, then you can go back to wherever you came from. And I *dare* you speak to me like that again.” With that, he turned and walked away.
Tears welled up in Anita’s eyes as she turned to Mama. “Mama, you were standing right there and watched your son slap me?” she asked, her voice trembling.
Mama scoffed. “Which slap? He just *touched* your face a little to keep you in check,” she said dismissively. “Listen, Anita, my son is a very wealthy man who lives in a big mansion. Are you really going to cry over a *little slap* instead of thinking of ways to make him like you? Remember, there are many girls dying to be in your position.”
With a sigh, Mama turned and walked away, leaving Anita standing there in shock and confusion.
Suddenly, Winnie’s question flashed through her mind: *How strong are you?*

*Should I run away?* Anita hesitated, but then the thought of the car her husband would buy if she gave birth to a boy crossed her mind. *No… I can’t leave now.*
*Besides, I will never end up like that woman in there. She’s too weak—and I am not!* she assured herself.
Wiping her tears, she straightened her posture and rushed outside to join them.
She was forgetting that one must be alive to own a car.
To be continued.
