Episode 4
Grandma brought out a knife from her dress and approached Chika.Who she thought was sleeping? Immediately, someone grabbed me from behind. My heart skipped a beat; I was very scared. I turned and saw Chika. I immediately turned towards Grandma and saw her coming with a duvet. he whispered, “Let’s go away from here,” but I insisted on seeing what Grandma wanted to do.
She removed the duvet and revealed clothes arranged to disguise us. She quickly turned back, but we managed to run away before she could see us. We ran to another empty room and hid under the bed.
After some minutes, we started hearing footsteps walking towards the room. “It must be Grandma,” I said quietly. Soon, the door opened, and we saw Grandma’s shoes walk in. She approached a wall, and soon we didn’t hear anything. We decided to check if she was gone. Eventually, she wasn’t there, so we both ran back to our room and closed the door for good.
We couldn’t sleep. I asked Chika how he managed to do that, and he said he wanted to prank me, as he used to sneak out for parties in France without anyone knowing. But unfortunately, Grandma got pranked instead. I was totally confused – why would Grandma want to kill us?
Soon it was morning; we woke up to Didi knocking at the door. We got dressed and went down to the dinner table, where everyone was waiting for us, including Grandma. She kept smiling at us like she did nothing. “How are you guys doing?” she said, gazing at us.
Chika and I were totally surprised. Was it a dream? I thought, as we both sat down. “We’re fine!” Chika responded, as the food was about to be served. Grandma insisted on serving the food, which was surprising.
Immediately, Chika and I shouted, “No!” which made everyone suspicious. “Is anything the problem?” Chika’s dad asked, looking curious.
I looked at Chika, giving him signs not to say anything, because I knew he was about to tell the family what happened last night. He understood the signs, so he didn’t say anything. We both kept looking at Grandma, which made my dad angry.
