Episode 2
My cousin Chika and his parents arrived at our doorstep, fresh from a five-year stint in France. I was ecstatic to see them, and we welcomed them with open arms. Over dinner, I shared stories of our upcoming vacation, and Chika’s dad agreed to join us on a visit to Grandma’s house. I was over the moon!
Days passed, and we embarked on our journey to the village. The 10-hour drive was tedious, and I dozed off, only to be awakened by my brother Boi’s excited shout: “David, David, wake up! We’re here!” As I opened my eyes, I was greeted by breathtaking scenery – lush trees, vibrant flowers, and picturesque views. My face lit up with a wide smile.
I glanced back, expecting to see Chika’s car, but it wasn’t there. Maybe they arrived earlier, or perhaps they’re on their way, I thought. Dad drove into a beautiful compound, and we stepped out of the car. I insisted on knocking, but before I could, the door swung open. I took two steps back, startled.
Dad called out, “DiDi!” and walked in. I followed Mom and Boi, wondering who had opened the door. Chika burst out of nowhere, dragging me toward a room. “I have something to show you!” he exclaimed, pointing to a stunning door that seemed like it was crafted by AI. “Wow, it’s beautiful!” I added.
Chika asked, “Should we go inside and take a look?” Just then, a mysterious voice behind us said, “If I were you, I wo
uldn’t.”?
We both looked back and saw a man dressed like a waiter. He must be DiDi, I guessed, as he told us to leave the place and never come near there again. Chika and I just walked away, leaving him behind. The house was quite dark, which I didn’t understand. We weren’t allowed to sing or shout loudly.
